The Educate Plus Certified Practitioner Training Program kicked off with a bang!
Jackie Dalton, Head of Foundation and Development at Ascham School and Neil McWhannell, CEO Educate Plus, jointly launched the Fundraising course with an interactive session on “Developing your Case for Support & Transformational Vision”. This was following by a new fresh presenter to the program, Rod Loneragan who is Head of Foundation, St Augustine’s College in Sydney. Rod’s session on ‘Reporting, Evaluating success & KPIs’ sent our fundraisers buzzing and flowing with new ideas to measure and track their fundraising strategies and successes.
Kelly Mancey, Director – Community Engagement at Pymble Ladies’ College led the first two Marketing and Communications sessions on Media Management. Kelly used live case studies on media issues and worked through leading practice solutions with the trainees. A spirited discussion on media practices followed.
Tony Pfeiffer, Director at MMG Education is leading the Admission’s course with the morning session focusing on ‘Admission Divers & School of First Choice’, followed by a session on ‘Assessing Schools Admission Process to ‘Best Practice’’, ‘Mystery Shopping’ and ‘School Enrolment Metrics’. All of which will give our Admissions’ trainees the confidence to implement leading practice when they get back to their institutions.
Director of Advancement at Knox Grammar School – Daniel Martin, presented with exceptional vision and clarity on ‘Global Giving – Cultural implications & Databases’. Our fundraisers were left with a feeling of invigoration, which will stand them in good stead on Monday morning back in the fundraising office!
(Know wonder he holds the record for being part of the team that secured the largest ever donation to the University of Sydney ($45.8M in total)!!!!)

Admissions’ Trainees getting involved in Tony Pfeiffer’s Mmg Education Limited session on Assessing Schools Admission Process to “Best Practice”
Jeff Buchanan from AskRight begins his session on ‘Capital Campaigns’, followed by a joint Fundraising and Alumni session on ‘Annual & Online Giving’. Jeff will close the Fundraising course today with a crucial session on ‘Planning and writing a Fundraising Plan’. These now certified Fundraisers, can step back into their fundraising roles with increased confidence to begin implementing the latest leading Fundraising practices.
Introducing the brilliant Dominic Cudmore who presented “Legal Issues – Aspects of the Law, Structures, Governance” today at the Educate Plus Certified Practitioner Training Course. Dominic is Principal at Hart Advisory and Hart Legal.
“Alumni Activities” was presented on Day 2 by Catherine McVean who is Alumni Relations & Events at the Old Haileyburians Association (OHA). With over 40 events per year at OHA, Catherine is a leader in maintaining database integrity, managing websites and tracking Alumni member engagement.
Discussions and learning continue in the Educate Plus Marketing & Communications training course on ‘Media Management’ this morning with our trainers Kelly Mancey and Margo Bastow, Director of Community Relations at Santa Maria College, WA.
