It is with regret that following a meeting of the Board earlier this week, the decision has been made to postpone the International Conference, originally scheduled for September 6-9, 2021. Unfortunately COVID restrictions and lockdowns and the increasing reluctance of institutions allowing staff travel at this tenuous time have led to this decision being made.
We are pleased, however to announce that the Conference has been re-scheduled (in Adelaide) to:
Monday 30 May – Thursday 2 June 2022
We are planning to also hold a New Zealand Conference in 2022 at a date to be confirmed.
I am pleased to advise that a series of online professional development opportunities will be made available to members on the original Conference dates. Where possible, Chapters will also implement face to face social and networking opportunities prior to the end of the year. Details of these events will be communicated within the next fortnight.
In regards to the Awards program, please note that the submission date has been extended until 31 December, 2021. The awards will be presented at the re-scheduled Conference and will be applicable for the 2020 and 2021 calendar years.
Members who have registered for the Conference are entitled to a full refund. Alternatively current registrations can be automatically rolled over to the new dates. All accommodation bookings will be cancelled free of charge and once the Conference National new portal is ready, new accommodation bookings can be made via this portal.
I wish all of our members well and hope that you are all coping well. A special shout out to our New South Wales members who are enduring some difficult times at the moment. We are thinking of you and we look forward to continuing to connect and to providing as much support as possible. We yearn the day when we can all get together as one.
Sincerely,
Russell Davidson
