My advice is to establish a dedicated room (or two) straight away. Ensure it’s clean and create an organised space (with a work table as well – this comes in handy). Too often I find Archives in schools are in run down rooms where things can get damaged easily, and people just automatically throw things in there without thinking. My previous school introduced a paper form that people had to fill out when they donated an item explaining what it was and obviously who donated it so we could keep track of it and have a filing system of sorts. This might also help you be picky about what you keep! Hope that all helps!

Hi Terry, Sign and Badge have been absolutely wonderful with the installation of a whole range of signage at Kingswood College. We’re also currently using them for an Archives/Alumni plaque project. Highly recommend sending an email to Ken the Director at ken@signandbadge.com.au. Hope this helps! Stephanie

Great question! So we plan in advance what type of content we want in the upcoming edition based on what’s happening in the School or what message we want to push to our community rather than the same content or the same people writing similar content over and over again (excluding the Principal). We then ask the relevant people to write the content but provide a guide about what we would like included as part of the copy. Sometimes I and other members of the Communications and Marketing Team will write the copy but our Lux Mea is more about giving students a voice and hearing from our staff rather than it being report-like.

Hope that makes sense! Happy to answer any other questions you may have.

    We sure do!
A bi-annual magazine called the Lux Mea. We always include a From The Principal article, something on our Alumni, content from the ELC, Junior School and Senior School etc.

On top of creating this hard copy version, we also have a digital version (other than Issu) which has the same content (different layout and maybe some more photos) built through our Newsletter platform etc.

See here for our most recent one: https://issuu.com/ivanhoegirls/docs/1978_-_ivh_lux_mea_magazine_july_2023_aw-issuu_?fr=xGAE9_zU1NUJeQ2yBBG6BOiUUDC23TUb0bgQmwQg6OgrIBCbIbYPI_wMyMzHIkVrQRcF1UGHB_kltGrcC_kcIDBYK_keCLakM_lOZBgYWbjtU_j8tSmz_Dz0yMDE5MDUxNTE3NDYxNA

    Hope that helps!
