Meriden School is an Anglican independent girls’ school located in Strathfield. It is one of the leading girls’ schools in the region, offering a comprehensive education for students from pre-kindergarten through to Year 12. The Role:
As the Director of Advancement and Alumnae, you will have the chance to build and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, engaging with alumnae, parents, and the broader community to foster lasting relationships and support for Meriden’s mission. If you are passionate about creating impact and leading a fundraising initiative from the ground up, this is the perfect opportunity to make a significant difference.
Responsibilities:
• Engage with the community to cultivate meaningful long-lasting relationships that will support the school’s mission
• Develop and execute a strategic well organised fundraising plan to include, bequests, major gifts, renewal, first gifts and potential donors
• Create, identify, and research the donor base to focus on potential donors with the aim to develop significant philanthropic relationships
• Cultivate relationships with major donors and secure gifts that align with and support Meriden’s key strategic priorities
• Develop and oversee the implementation of an annual giving program of events and communications to support appeals for capital works and scholarships
• Collaborate with the Director of Finance and the Director of Marketing and Communications to align messaging, streamline data collection, and ensure accurate financial reporting for fundraising initiatives
• Work closely with the Old Girl’s Union to support their activities
• Liaise with the Community Relations and Events Manager in planning social and fundraising functions that engage the community and support the schools fundraising goals
The Ideal Candidate:
• Will have a previous experience in major gift fundraising
• Demonstrated exceptional relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to establish and maintain strong, lasting connections with donors, alumni, and key stakeholders
• Outstanding writing skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive, and compelling communications that resonate with diverse audiences
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required
• Expertise in budget development, with strong numerical and analytical skills to provide valuable insights and inform strategic decision-making
