Georgina Pearce OAM
Volunteer
Royal Flying Doctor Service
Georgina Pearce has been recognised for her volunteer work and service to the community in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours list. With a passion for giving back, Georgina joined the Friends of Flying Doctors in 1995 to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). One of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world, the RFDS provides extensive primary health care and 24-hour emergency service to people over an area of 7.69 million square kilometres. In recognising the importance of the RFDS and the service it provided, Georgina felt compelled to donate her time and later became part of the RFDS FLYING 1000 group, raising money specifically for the medical equipment fit-out in the new Pilatus aircraft. With a history of volunteering, Georgina was also very involved in supporting the Friends of the Art Gallery of WA in the 1980’s.
