FACE 2 FACE MAGAZINE 1 0 Institutional Leader Award Recognition of an educational leader who has supported and contributed to the role of educational advancement in their school / institution: DR BRIONY SCOTT – PRINCIPAL WENONA SCHOOL FOR GIRLS Dr Scott leads from the front and is very supportive of every role within the Advancement space at Wenona by ensuring that every member of the team is supported and extended professionally. She understands the synergy between enrolments, marketing, community relations and fundraising, and she encourages blue sky thinking from the Advancement staff, which they greatly appreciate. Dr Scott is particularly supportive of Educate Plus, by giving of her time to present at events such as this Conference and also by encouraging Wenona staff to attend as many PD and networking events as possible. Volunteer Leadership Award Recognition of the strong contribution one of our volunteers has made to assist in the advancement education in Australasia: PETER WILSON ONZM, KING’S COLLEGE Peter Wilson ONZM is an Old Collegian of great standing in the King’s College community and long association of over 66 years with the College, as a former student, past parent, grandparent, major donor and volunteer. As a scholarship recipient himself when he attended King’s College in School House (1952-56), it is with this spirit of giving back that he established the Peter Wilson Boarding Scholarships which currently has funds of over $1million generating income to allow for 4-5 students per year to benefit from a King’s education that they might not otherwise be able to afford. He has served in a voluntary capacity as Past President of the Foundation Board of Management and he continues to serve as a Board member. He is also a Past President of the King’s College Old Collegians Association and the Floreat Semper which oversees interests of Old Collegians and staff members over the age of 70. Mentor Award Recognition an Educate Plus member who has provided a strong sense of motivation and encouragement, a willingness to share ideas and experiences and provided practical support to their mentee through their participation in the Educate Plus Mentor Program: TIM SHEARER, SCOTCH COLLEGE MELBOURNE For a great many years Tim has been most generous in inviting members across the length and breadth of the country to visit Scotch College and to see his Advancement programs in action. Timsharesallhisknowledgeandexpertisewithouthesitation and is a shining example of Educate Plus values and culture. After these visits Tim often then shares his resources and detailed strategies to ensure other members can benefit from the key principles he and his team have developed. Tim has also long been a contributor at numerous State and International conferences over the past ten years. Newcomer Award - Tertiary Recognition an Educate Plus member who has commenced working in the field of educational advancement since the beginning of the previous Educate Plus International Conference year. It recognises that the recipient has made an immediate contribution to their institution through their work and is an encouragement for them to remain in the industry. RACHEL KING, TRINITY RESIDENTIAL COLLEGE, THE UNIVERSITY OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA Rachel became the College’s first Marketing Manager in January 2018. Being a Trinity Alumni, she is the perfect fit to promote the College.Rachel has set up the first on-line feedback surveys for Trinity, commenced e-newsletters, co –ordinated Trinity’s annual Open Days, focussed on improving metrics and role accountability and recognised the need to re-energise the College brand. 2018 Special Awards Congratulations to our 2018 award recipients 1 0
